Si Yuan Balance Method Acupuncture

I attended a lecture where Dr Tans Balance Method Acupuncture was used during a demonstration on a client. It was only the clients second session and the results for her were remarkable. It transpired Dr Tan himself had taught in Ireland in 2014 but as I was studying Naturopathy at that time  I was unable to attend the course. I spoke to a number of people that had attended his trainings, and without fail, the people I spoke to remarked to me that it had changed totally their style of practice.

I already know how powerful and amazing acupuncture is, and I am aware that there are a lot of methods and variations of treatment approach. Acupuncture after all has a 2000 year history! During this time, it has been refined to such a great level of excellence, that it has been embraced all over the world as first line choice of healthcare for many people. For me, seeing this particular method in action, followed by researching it's origins and teaching methods, led me to completing the Si Juan Balance Method Course.

So why do I like it so much?

  • It uses distal needling i.e. away from the area you have pain or a health issue. This is better for clients, who a lot of the time understandably, do not want anything near the problematic area. One example of this would be a post herpes zoster neuralgia...or in other words, nerve pain that doesn't go away after having shingles. It can be extremely painful, even the lightest touch against the skin for some people.

  • It doesn't require clients undressing or wearing loose clothing for a session, so it is much easier for clients to come on a break from work or after work.

  • You can choose whether to sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a treatment couch.

  • You can spend your time relaxing or continue working while being treated. I recommend the former, but the treatment will work regardless.

  • It is more affordable for people. It requires more visits but at a much reduced cost. €35 per session €70 for 3 sessions. If your issue is completely resolved after one session, that is all you will need.

  • Affordability makes acupuncture an all inclusive treatment choice, which embraces my personal ethos of inclusiveness.

  • To give you an idea of how this method works, below is a video of Dr Tan teaching his method to a group of acupuncturists.
